One of my favorite displays belongs to the United Methodist Women (UMW). Instead of spending money on swag, they fully funded the seminary education of two women in Cameroon.
Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy the presentation value of other displays and the information they provide, but I think the UMW send a great message.
Here is the full text of the sign:
In 600 square feet, it is impossible to show 143 years of women in mission, the work our members are doing in their communities every day, the lives transformed through the global ministries of the Church, and all the ways the United Methodist Women will move into the next 143 years.
So, instead, we used the money to fully fund the seminary education of two female local pastors in Cameroon.
One last shout out to the UMW, if you donate $5 or more here, they’ll hand deliver a thank you card to a delegate at General Conference. It’s a creative fundraiser and a great way to let your delegates know you’re thinking of them.
